Deniz Ercetin

Deniz Ercetin is a first-year student at Duke University from Istanbul, Turkey, intending to major in Biology and Computer Science. Growing up in the Middle East has motivated Deniz to explore the region from both a personal and academic perspective, in its cultural, historical, and political complexities. Through  DISC and DUMESC, Deniz hopes to engage with diverse perspectives and develop a deeper scholarly understanding of the Middle East. He is excited to learn from peers who share similar interests and to contribute his own experiences to the community.
