Global Career Week: The Promises & Pitfalls of International Consulting

In this session with Dr. Paniz Musawi Natanzi (Postdoctoral Associate, Duke University Middle East Studies Center (DUMESC), students can share questions about what the work of a consultant entails, searching for job opportunities and how to navigate cultural, political and logistical aspects of working as a consultant in different countries. Dr. Paniz Musawi Natanzi earned her PhD in Gender Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin and a Master's degree in Comparative Political Thought from SOAS. For her doctoral dissertation she did research in Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. From 2019 to late July 2021 she worked with NGOs, IOs, start-ups and Afghan institutions as a consultant in Afghanistan. She was the Afghanistan author of the German News Agency (dpa) from 2020 until the military withdrawal in 2021. This session is co-sponsored by the Duke University Middle East Studies Center.
