Duke in the Arab World Presents: An Evening of Moroccan Culture

Speaker

Duke in the Arab World Program Activities

The Duke in the Arab World (DAW) academic program has been running since 2012. It was established by Professor Bruce Lawrence and Mbaye Lo and has since provided more than 130 students with the opportunity to spend six weeks studying in the Middle East and North Africa. Over the years, students have participated in programs based in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Qatar, with recent cohorts focusing primarily on Morocco and Egypt.
At this event, DAW students will welcome the program’s site coordinator, Meriam Zahouane from Fez, for an evening dedicated to Moroccan culture and musical expression.

This event is part of DUMESC's Commemorating 240 Years of U.S.–Moroccan Friendship, honoring a shared history of cultural dialogue, diplomacy, and artistic exchange.
