Duke-UNC Middle East Studies Certificate

Graduate students whose research involves the Middle East may pursue a certificate in Middle East Studies concurrently with their degree coursework.

The certificate requires completion of a methodology seminar (AMES 620) and a bi-weekly professionalization practicum (AMES 720) in addition to three graduate courses having a Middle East component. Students must also prove research and language competency in relevant subject areas.
